Anne Barge Couture silk wedding dress. I found this in a prestigious bridal salon in downtown Chicago. I have not worn it, or had it altered. So all of the original beading and length is still intact for however you need to have it fit.
The only problem the lovely dress had for me is that I bought it alone. I wanted my mother along to help me pick it out and I thought that I could get over missing that special time in my life of having my mothers opinion and have her fall in love with the dress as I came out of the dressing room. I tried to recreate that moment and just tell her later that I chose a dress at a different appointment. But as I set my new appointments to get the experience I felt I missed out on, I fell in love with ... another dress.
Well, my story doesn't seem to be that original. It is easy to fall in love with many dresses. They are all so beautiful, but I found THe ONe, and I hope this can be THe ONe for you.
The dress is in the same condition as I received it from the store. I have not altered it and subsequently have not cleaned it. The store informed me not to clean until after the alterations and that multiple cleanings can deteriorate the color and sheen. It is in wonderful condition. The salon in Chicago is called Belle Vie and carries strictly Couture gowns, which means they treat their merchandise with great care.
