This is my wedding dress that I bought from Carlisle's in Pittsburgh. I think it was designed by Lora Van Lear, but the faxed sketch I have is very faded now. The dress has a halter top that ties in the back, box pleats on the skirt, a crinoline underneath, and it does not have a train. I wore a long rolled edge veil instead. I bought it in 1998, and it was fantastic because there wasn't much going on that was understated. It's a great timeless design.
The dress was sealed up in a box since a month after I wore it in 1998. I opened it today to inspect the hem. There is a TINY bit of fraying that i found on one spot on the hem. There are also just a couple of very small spots that need to be cleaned at the hem. But this is very very minimal. In fact, if you need to hem it, this shouldn't be a problem at all.
To give you an idea of measurements, I'm a size 4 and I'm 5'7.5". I think my shoes were about an 1" or 1.5". Please let me know if you have questions or would like to see additional pictures. |
